We received a request from the hospital pharmacy management to work out a new blueprint for the hospital pharmacy.
Our approach is to sparr with a hospital pharmacist, the senior pharmacy assistant and the head of pharmacy-logistics, analyse logistic processes (goods in, goods out, storing, ward restocking, patient specific distribution, external customers), lay-out of the current pharmacy location, regulations and legislation, lean management and pharmacy principles. From these insights we have edited the current blueprints and with on-site sessions and online conference calls we developed and fine-tuned the optimal blueprint for the new hospital pharmacy. Besides that, we did an inventory capacity calculation to analyse if current and future operations would fit.
The results of our actions are a design/blueprint of a new hospital pharmacy, an inventory capacity analysis, qualitative and quantitative arguments for the construction budget.
